I had a hankering to see what was in the thrifty shops today, so Wyb and I ventured out to a new store. It was tiny and packed with people (no carts and even with Wyb in the ergo it was a tight squeeze) But it was worth it:
8" cast iron skillet (in need of major work, I accept the challenge)-- I paid $9, plates ($2), embroidery floss ($5), book for Elle (.75), wooden push toy ($3) and a whole bunch of tiny children's silverware ($2!)
And a desk for.... $4.98. Yes, I walked in, set my bag on this while I was a-fixing baby to my back and then saw price tag. I'll take it! Plans are to let Elle use it as-is (she'll cover it in marker and paint anyway) or paint it cute and maybe a sewing desk for me? Who knows. You can be sure I'll blog about it though :-)
And not from the thrift store, but came in the mail today is the lunar calendar. Love it. Thank you for the heads up on these SouleMama.

Great finds! Lucky you!!
Love the desk- can't wait for your post on whatever you end up doing with it.
Would you consider doing a post on how you will 'fix' the iron skillet? I have one that needs help and would love some advice!
That lunar calendar is great!
I love the desk. What a score, I too would struggle with what to do with it, as it looks pretty awesome in the pic. Keep us posted. Awesome finds. :)
